The Studio Pass

01

Teacher Training

When I started teaching art to kids twenty-five years ago, I had no idea what I was doing and I had nothing to work with. It was a process of trial and error before I was running classes smoothly and successfully. You'll get all the training you need to run a fun program from the get-go!

03

Marketing Magic

If the business side of things doesn't scare you, the marketing side of things might. Calling up school districts and setting up meetings. Pitching the idea to them. Showing them the benefits of working with your program. It's daunting. The good news is I've gotten it down to a science and an art. Before long, you'll have the knowledge and the confidence to seal the deal.

05

Sharing Real Art

This isn't story time crafts. You don't (usually) have to mess around with glue and popsicle sticks. Nope. You're teaching with real art materials and your students will walk away with real art. I'm not talking about hanging-it-on-the-refrigerator-with-a-magnet art either. I'm talking about art they can be proud of. Frameable and hangable.

02

Administrative Training

Many people say they love art and kids but there are so many details on the business side of things. Registration. Tracking the roster. Invoicing. Getting paid. Tracking payments. We show you how to take care of all those pesky parts of running an art business so you can make money teaching art.

04

Tried-and-True Curriculum

Again, I've been doing this for a loooong time. I know what works and what doesn't. When a project is a flop, I tweak it or toss it. When it's a hit, I use it! You get all of my best stuff. You don't have to think, "What should I do this week with my students?" You don't have to wonder whether a project will take too long or not long enough. Lesson planning will be as easy as selecting your project, creating a sample, and guiding your students in making art.

06

Becoming Part of a Community

With the Business Pass, you're getting a lot more than just the know-how. You'll get the know-who too. You'll have access to me or other coaches to answer your questions. You'll get to know other Art Van-Go trained teachers so you can talk shop and share good ideas. We want you to succeed in your endeavors, whether it is to teach one set of classes or become seasoned teachers. We'll be behind you, beside you, and guide you the whole way!

I was trained by Elida in how to teach kids. A better word would be mentored. She showed me how to do it all, from how to greet the kids as they walk in the door to how to get all the wiggles out. And her curriculum is the best. So many art projects aren't the real deal. They don't treat kids like what they are -- artists. These projects build their confidence in becoming creators.
