Avoid seasonal sadness. Escape to balmy beaches with me!
I went to Costa Rica last month for a lot of reasons:
I wanted to avoid the anniversary of my break-up last year.
I wanted to avoid spending Valentine’s Day alone in my home.
I wanted to feel the sun on my face … in February!
And I wanted to do something I’ve always wanted to do: SURF!
This new challenge of skimming the waves on a board was really daunting. There were so many obstacles.
I mean, let’s face it. I’m not getting any younger. I have bad knees — I’ve had multiple surgeries. I’m a lousy swimmer and I’m almost legally blind which means I HAVE to wear contacts and you can imagine how well that goes with salt spray and splashes.
But this was something I just really wanted to do — or at least to say I had done! So I made one specific, realistic goal for myself — and that was to get my big booty upright on a board at least one time.
And guess what?
I did it! And on the very first try!
After that, everything was a bonus! A few more successes and I was addicted. I mean, you aren’t going to see me on Hawaii 5-0 or in the next surfing competition, but by the end of the two weeks, the real surfers were inviting me to join them in catching green water waves in the deep. I was stoked!
Not only was the surfing amazing, but the weather, the people, the jungle, the monkeys, the sloths, the fun! I left thinking I want to go back there EVERY winter.
So, you know me! I love to bring all my friends wherever I go and I thought of you. Would you be interested in joining me next winter for some sun and fun in Costa Rica?
